Update Blog:

Back home + winnn

By Amalia - 27 Oct 2008

Back home from Paris, from the exchange. Don't know if i mentioned this but I was with a girl in the end, a really sweet girl called Marianne. She lived in the center of Paris in a cute little appartement, and she had quite a large family. I had the most incredible time there. I did loadsss of shopping, tried chestnut spread (mm!) had ham and cheese for dinner everyday, which wasn't that great (god help me if she reads this), and visited loads of places, both with my exchange and with my friends. We went to:

Champs Elysee - The Defense - The Grand Arch - The Eiffel Tower - Versailles - Notre Dame (but we didn't find quasimodo) - The Sacre Coeur - The Louvre - The musee d'orsay.... and so on (yes, there was more!

And we had the best time ever. We were with guys to for a change, hooray. Really the kind of thing which makes you want to move to a mixed school. It was extremely difficult, because I actually stuck to the rules unlike most and only spoke French to her, unlike most other people and their exchanges. I think it was worth it though because I learnt loads, and it sort of made me reconsider about taking french next year, instead of dropping it.

So now you know my excuse for not updating, I guess it's about time now, even though I have no inspiration to make graphics at all. I do think I've just been given a little motivation though..

Infact, just checking my emails I discovered that I won animeshare's main layout contest, which is pleasing me no end. You can see my entry up on the site this month (and possibly next month too?). Animeshare is now also my new affiliate, and it really is an honour to be affiliated with such a popular and acclaimed site.

And now I'm going to get back to the main layout I started before I left. I've got time now as I'm on holiday, but do I have patience?

Fresh start :)

By Amalia - 02 Oct 2008

So, I just got my review (after waiting quite some time) from ohlovely.org [click to see!] Although there are quite alot of cristicms, I think that it's a very fair review and it's something I should work on fixing straight away. So, in the little time I have over the next week I'm going to try and fix every problem listed on that review, I don't think there's anything I can't do.

I've already started a new layout, I think I've mentioned that before though :P I'll also be taking down the icon bases page. One thing that I won't be changing (except adding additional credits) are the activity pages. Although they're not my own creation I think for all my friends who aren't actually interested in graphics it's something that interests them too. Until I come up with a new solution of alternative content that will remain. So any ideas?

Aswell as fixing all the other things, I'll be fixing this stupid spam bug now. I never used to have it before, but now that I do it is VERY annoying.

I don't know how much I've stressed this in my previous post, but homework is at an all time high. It's unbareable. Sometimes I just want to leave school . You work all day, then you come home, and work in all your spare time, then wake up again at 6:30 for another day of non-stop work, even on weekeds. I was talking to my dad after freaking out on my geography homework because I was that fustrated by then. He told me 'Why don't you just move to your brothers school?' I replied 'But if I go to a good school, I'll work lots now but then I'll get into a good university (pause)... wait, thats even more work. Ok then! I get a good job (pause) no, actually thats even more, more work ' I guess you can never win.... Unless you like doing homework that is.

So, time to get to work (the little time I have) I shouldn't even be doing work now. I know I have enough homework to set me from now (6pm) till 10pm. And yes, I did just get home.

xoxo
