Texturising imagesWelcome to my tutorial on texturizing images! Here I will show you one of my favourite techniques on texturizing images. 1. Start with an image, I'm using this image ![]() you can use the same if you like. 2. Paste it into photoshop (if you haven't already done), and then you'll need to take a texture, I'm using this one, you can find many more good textures on the textures part of adorabubble. ![]() 3. Put the texture layer underneath your main image, if it's not big enough, you can free transform it and enlarge it to fit (edit > free transform) 4. Set the top layer to pin light, and there you go, a lovely textured image! Great for layouts and avatars. ![]() 5.If you want to go even further, you can blend a couple more, here I've put in a third layer, ontop of the original texture but underneath the first, and set it to 'overlay' It features another texture from the site. ![]() .. And this was the result: ![]() 6. And I carried on to make this a completed graphic (although a rather purposeless one) As you can see, I added a tiled pattern ontop, as well as some text and brushes. ![]() What was your result? Please drop me a comment in the tagboard or through the contact form if you've used this tutorial! I'd really love to see your result! |
